Research workshop on space-enabled applications

Dear friends, the AIFC BCPD and the Kazakhstan PhD Association in the UK are pleased to announce the upcoming international research workshop on space innovations for the mining and agricultural industries, which will take place on 18 February 2020.
We invite researchers, students, practitioners, representatives of the start-up industry, government officials and the business community in the field of education, aerospace, IT, mining and agricultural sectors to an interactive discussion platform with international experts to exchange knowledge and experience.
How does space improve the efficiency of the mining and agricultural industries? How does space technology help track illegal metal mining and fishing? How do satellites contribute to reducing environmental damage? Experts of the Satellite Application Catapult, British innovation and technology organisation will answer these and other questions.
The Catapult is an independent company funded by the UK Government (Innovate UK), which was created to stimulate the country's economic growth through space exploration and space technology and to help other organisations of various industries in using satellite applications to improve the industry and solve global problems. The company also focuses on the practical implementation of research and innovation by connecting industry, academia, and public authorities.

As part of the workshop, you will have the opportunity to:
- learn about research, cases, and techniques of the Catapult on the use of space robotics for the benefit of the development of science, economics, and society
- discuss the UK practices for provision of grants for scientists and innovators that could be proposed for implementation in Kazakhstan
